The state of North Carolina requires all licensed drivers to carry automobile
liability insurance. The minimum required amounts of liability coverage are
$30,000 per person, $60,000 per accident and $25,000 in property coverage.
What do I do if I do not own a car?
If you want to get your license and you do not own a car, you can purchase a

Yes. You can purchase up to $250,000 per person, $500,000 per accident and

protect, you may also want to consider a liability umbrella policy in addition to
your auto insurance policy. Personal Umbrella policies can be purchased in
amounts up to $10,000,000.00.
