When considering purchasing a medical insurance plan for you or
your family, there are many things to take into account including
price, coverage options including co-payments and drug cards and
annual maximum out of pocket expenses.
Many clients are now opting for
HSA (Health Savings Account) plans
instead of the traditional plans with doctor co-payments and drug
co-payments. These plans are typically 20% to 50% less expensive
then a low deductible insurance plan with doctor co-payments and
drug card co-payments. When you consider the premium savings
and the annual maximum out of pocket exposure on the
HSA plans, it
makes a compelling case to switch to this type of plan.
If you choose an
HSA plan, you will have to meet the deductible
before any benefits are paid by the insurance company; however
most plans provide 100% coverage for preventative services without
having to meet the deductible. While meeting the deductible, you
also will only be responsible for the rate that the insurance company
has contracted with the doctors office, hospital or facility and that
amount will be credited toward the deductible. You can also add drug
coverage to most plans and when added works the same as any
other benefit.
The deductibles on theses plans typically range from $1500 to
$2800 for single coverage and $2500 to $10,000 for family coverage.
The family deductible is a single deductible for the entire family. You
have the option of choosing 100%, 80% or 50% coverage after the
deductible has been net. If you choose the 80% or 50% option, you
will have an additional amount of out of pocket expenses before you
reach 100% coverage. These extra out of pocket expenses range
from $2000 to $5000, depending on if you have a single or family
deductible.
HSA plans provide lower insurance premiums, lower maximum out
of pockets and nice tax advantages for clients that are trying to
reduce their overall health insurance expenses. For more
information on these types of plans, please give us a call and we will
be happy to explain them in more detail.
We also provide co-payment plans from all of the major insurance
companies in North Carolina and South Carolina.

Most dental plans provide coverage in
three different areas including
preventative, basic services and major
services. Some plans also provide
coverage for orthodontic services.
Most plans will also provide 100%
coverage for preventative services from
the first day of coverage, usually two
visits per year. Some plans have
waiting periods for the basic and major
services from six to twelve months.
There are some plans that will provide
benefits for the basic and major
services from the first day of coverage;
however the first two years will have
reduced benefits. Deductibles will
apply to the basic and major
services.         All dental plans will only
pay up to the annual maximum per
year. These annual maximums range
from $1000 to $2500 annually. We have
plans available for children, students,
single coverage, family coverage and
individual or couples over 65. Call us

You can purchase life insurance in two basic
forms, either a term life insurance policy or a
cash value life insurance policy.
Depending what you are using the life
insurance policy for will determine which type
of policy to purchase. If you are using the life
insurance to protect something that is only
going to be around of a short time such as a
debt, you may want to consider a term policy.
These policies are usually very inexpensive
and will lock in your premium for 1 to 30
years. This type of policy is not always the
best choice for long term needs.
For a long term need, you may want to
consider a cash value policy such as
universal or whole life insurance. These
policies will build cash value over time and
some will guarantee the premium for the life
of the policy. For more information or for a
